I found a good Italian restaurant in Kyoto! Chef Koichi Watanabe’s Italian cuisine is very cost-effective, brings out the best of the ingredients, and the pasta is delicious and exquisite!
In May, the streets of Kyoto are now overflowing with students on school excursions. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, we visited Fiorisca, an Italian restaurant located a short distance up Takakura-dori from Oike-dori in a quiet residential area.
It is Italian, but the food is mainly from Kyoto and other Kinki areas, with a selection of seasonal ingredients from all over Japan.
The menu is especially prepared using Kyoto vegetables and seasonal ingredients from Awaji Island, etc. The delicate flavors are followed by strong flavors….
The difference between the two is very intense and leaves a strong impression…
Two kinds of handmade pasta followed, all of which were delicious and highly satisfying.
This is one of those restaurants that I always want to repeat when I come to Kyoto.
There is no a la carte, but two courses for lunch and one course for dinner.
The cosmopolitan atmosphere is great, so how can you pay this price for so many plates and a glass of wine or a sparkling wine? Isn’t it too cheap?
The restaurant is so conscientiously priced that you may worry about the price.
The restaurant is also listed in the Michelin Gourmand, so you should definitely visit.
With Chef Koichi Watanabe
Warm soup of fresh onion
Assorted appetizers (each dish is well seasoned and all delicious!)
Bread, focaccia, and cake all baked by themselves…
It is absurdly delicious! (Pasta (thin noodles 《cappellini》 with squid in a sauce of crustacean and broccoli)
Second pasta is gnocchi with pea and bacon sauce
Gnocchi are made by kneading mashed potatoes!
This pasta is also seriously delicious!
Cream cheese and jasmine ice cream (wonderful in the sense that it has a subtle jasmine flavor)
The main course was poached sea bass with lobster surimi and bamboo shoots underneath!
It is located in a residential area, so quiet that a normal walk would miss it…
