I participated in a professional and amateur tournament with that young star, Taiga Semikawa.
The ISPS HANDA Europe or Japan Tournament! I played in the pro-am tournament at the Pacific Club Gotemba Course in the rain today, prior to the “ISPS HANDA Europe or Japan Tournament!
I was so happy to hear the sound of Yasuka Semikawa’s man-ball and to feel the trajectory of the ball flying straight toward the pin up close and personal.
His precise advice was as good as a “God lesson” to me, and we finished in 3rd place with a good team score of -17.
I really admire the personality of Mr. Semikawa, who never forgets to be attentive and courteous to his many fans!
He is only 23 years old and is a gem of a player who will be making his mark on the world in the future.
Before the start and in the bathroom, I also met Ryo Ishikawa, who I played with last year, and gave him a shout out.
I never thought I would be able to play with these young stars, so I was very fortunate.
As you know, Semikawa won the Japan Series JT Cup at the youngest age of 22, after winning a fierce battle with Ryo Ishikawa and others.
This is the first time for an amateur and a pro to win two majors, and I hope that he will win a major tournament in the U.S. such as the Masters soon…
Please come and watch this tournament, which has the highest prize money total in Japan, starting tomorrow!
